Allen Family Portraits

Just thought I would upload some photos from my shoot with the Allen family. We went up on the parkway, after shooting some in their backyard. Their kids are so cute!

I'll be updating with photos from a few other shoots, here in a little bit.

Merry Christmas!

It's Christmas day! I hope you guys have had a Happy Holiday so far. I think I'm going to take a most needed rest of the year off! I got everyones Christmas cards back to them just in time, even the last minute ones! I'll be posting some of my recent portrait sittings here in a few days.

It's been a pretty rough few weeks, since we buried a close friend last Wednesday. Thanks you guys for bearing with me while I get through it. When you lose someone unexpected, it kinda hits you like a Mack Truck, and you just don't know what to do. It really makes you open your eyes and realize the most importrant things in life. Please pray for the family of Brittany Honeycutt, as well as all of her friends.

Merry Christmas!

Desta's Boys = Fun!

A couple days ago I went to see Desta & do our second shoot with her boys. I always love going to see them, because her boys are, well... boys. It's pretty exhuasting watching her chase them around, but they are so much fun! Below are a few of my favorites from the shoot!

Crunch Time!

Ledford Family Portraits

Chris Ledford gave me a call the other day. She wanted to shoot family portraits for her Christmas Cards. We met at her dads cabin, which I have been wanting to take pictures at for a while. The shot below was taken from the loft. I had to lie down on my stomach and lean over the edge to get the shot. It was worth it though!

Stephanie finally had her baby!

I recently visited Stephanie Cody to take photos of her newest member of the family, Kalan Graham Cody. He's two weeks old in the photos and just the cutest little boy! I still can't decide whether he looks more like his mom or his dad though!

Morgan, Mace, & Elijah's Fall Portraits

I recently shot some photos of Kim Green's daughters & nephew. We went to Red Hill to the new "Ridges at Rock Creek" housing development where I had taken several bridal portraits, but never any kids. It was a really good place to get shots of the kids playing next to the creek, and in the fields. My favorite photo from the shoot is the black & white of Mace below.

Justin & Jada's Engagement

Congratulations to Justin & Jada on their engagement! The other day, I got to spend some time with them and shoot their engagement portraits. We did some photos out in a field, the railroad tracks, but my favorite is the black & white hand tinted photo below. This little shed was just behind the house that Justin & Jada are buying. It was such a cute little house and their excitement about the future is visible in the photographs.

The Photo below is one that we shot on the railroad tracks. I've been learning how to make photos look more like paintings, and this is one I've been playing with. I'd love to hear feedback on what you think about the painting effect!

Peterson Family Portraits

I recently visited Karen Peterson and her family do shoot some portraits. They live at this place that I've always wanted to take pictures at, so I was really excited! We did a bunch of family portraits and then I got to take some pictures of their kids playing in the leaves. Those were the cutest kids!

P.S.
Karen has a password on her proofs, so just let her know if you want to see them.

Addyson's One Year Old!

Saturday, I went to see Addyson at her home in Barnardsville. She just turned one year old and I couldn't believe how much she had grown in only five months! Now she's up and running around... and has teeth! I can tell that the sittings are just getting more fun since she's growing so fast!

Yes, I know!

I know. I know. I am getting a little slack on posting to my blog! I am sorry for that, things have been a little crazy... good crazy though! Here are some photos from Cara & Nick's wedding in Asheville. It was so beautiful!

It's a New Office!

Yes, I know, I haven't posted much on the blog lately... but I have good reason! I just got moved into an office in Burnsville. It's a great place just next to the Parkway Playhouse. It's called the Mountain Heritage Center and it's in the making of becoming a great little artist community. We're having an open house this Saturday the 13th in the evening. I hope you can come by and check out the new place!

I'm located upstairs in Studio Four.

Rachel & Max's Wedding

A couple of weeks back I went to Newland to shoot Rachel Raby & Max Walls wedding. It was such a beautiful day for an outdoor wedding! They had the ceremony beside the lake at sunset & the reception was just nearby under a huge white tent.

Stephanie & Kelby's Maternity Portraits

Last week was a busy week for maternity shoots! I did several different shoots outdoors and we all had fun. Monday, I went to meet with Stephanie and Kelby in Marshall. They had a beautiful house with a huge front porch. It was my favorite place to shoot! They were both pretty nervous to begin with, but it was all good after we got to know each other a little bit. I'll post photos from the other shoots soon!
